Winning Attitudes – A Season To Look Forward To

Darrell Smith, IAC President

It’s nice to be looking forward to summer again. Last year it seemed like all of our seasons got lumped together into one: COVID season. This year, on the other hand, each new season seems to bring a little more hope, and I for one am happy for the change. A year after things went sideways, it looks like “normal” might actually be possible again.

With that in mind, maybe it’s time for all of us to shift our focus. Let’s look forward instead of peering down at our phones at the latest news report. Let’s finally give in to optimism. As the earth comes to life with renewed energy, let’s do the same. Trust me – positive thinking is as powerful as the sun itself.

We can’t ignore the reality that it will take time to put things back together, of course, but here at IAC we have complete confidence that the industries we serve are coming back stronger than before. The American consumer – the engine that drives everything in this country – sees the light at the end of the tunnel, and for the first time in a long time it isn’t a train. It’s the healthy glow of a future filled with possibilities.

The past year has given us all a bit of perspective on our lives, our jobs and our relationships with each other. Let’s not waste that refreshed view of the world. I’ve never valued human connections more than I do right now, and I bet you feel the same. Together, we’re going to achieve great things in the seasons to come, and we’re going to find that success together.
